Starts With One Single Step
Welcome to Mission Possible!
I wanted to create a space where everyone can stay up to date on my 21 California Mission Camino (800 mi). Please stay tuned to this blog as it will be the main place that I will post about my Camino adventures.
I plan to complete this within the next year or so. I plan to do all of this in pieces, not all at once. Usually I will complete 1 Mission at a time as they are all about 30+ miles from each other. I learned from a successful 21 California Mission Walker veteran that it can be difficult to complete sequentially (1-21). I may be jumping around depending on groups of pilgrims that may be organizing walks that I will join. I will then go back and complete certain sections that I missed. My plan is to walk as many as I can with groups (for safety and more fun).
I have completed the first 2 Missions: Mission San Diego De Alcala to Mission San Luis Rey = 55 miles.
Next up: San Luis Rey to San Juan Capistrano, about 40 miles.
It was forecasted to rain the entire time we were walking. Thankfully, we only had rain on the last day. 2 Catholic parishes graciously opened their parish halls to us to sleep for the night. By mile 13 out of 16 on the first day, all 6 of us were craving burritos, so we found a delicious Mexican restaurant and filled up on a delicious burrito! There were many great conversations along the way and friendships began to blossom. We made it to Mission San Luis Rey in one piece, just little wet and cold from the incessant rain we had for the last 11 miles of the journey.
Here is a map of what I will be completing!

I am happy to see that you have been able to do this. I know how important it has been.
